Iliad Group Selects H2air for its First Wind PPA
The Iliad Group has signed its first wind Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with French renewable electricity producer H2air. Through this 15-year contract, the European telecommunications company will purchase carbon-free electricity generated by the wind turbines from the Limodores wind farm.
This PPA covers the supply of 19 GWh of electricity per year to the Iliad Group over 15 years, starting January 1, 2026. Located in the Haute-Marne region of northeastern France, the Limodores wind farm was developed, built, and is currently operated by the H2air group.
As an experienced energy buyer, the Iliad Group has already signed multiple solar PPAs across Europe. Leveraging the breadth of its multi-technology portfolio, H2air supported this major player in the telecommunications industry in executing its first long-term wind energy supply contract.
“We are extremely proud to be supplying the Iliad Group with renewable energy for their very first wind power purchase agreement in Europe! The signing of this partnership demonstrates H2air’s - and the entire industry’s - ability to meet the needs of major corporations at competitive rates” said Roy Mahfouz, Founder and President of H2air.
“The wind output from our Limodores wind farm will contribute to implementing the Iliad Group’s ambitious climate strategy. This contract also illustrates H2air’s ability and commitment to support large companies in building resilience against market volatility and anticipating regulatory requirements" added Mathieu Mirabel, PPA & Assets Valuation Manager at H2air.
“I am very pleased to announce the signing of our very first wind PPA in France with H2air. Since the publication of our Climate Plan in January 2021, the Iliad Group has signed eight PPAs across Europe. As a European group, we must consider our energy procurement on a Europe-wide scale, guided by a single principle: everywhere, give priority to low-carbon energy and secure our long-term supplies! Here, the iliad Group is proving that the telecom sector can plan its development in a sustainable and responsible way, coupling technological progress with respect for the environment,” said Thomas Reynaud, CEO of the Iliad Group.
This first wind PPA is part of the Iliad Group’s proactive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, reflecting its focus on the environmental impact and sustainability of its investments. The electricity supplied under the PPA will avoid the emission of more than 13,900 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent each year.
Key benefits :
- Protection against market price volatility
- Long-term visibility in energy procurement planning
- Support for renewable energy development
- Traceability of the electricity
