Race for equity

Like H2air, Clarisse has been keen to promote gender equality in the workplace since the misadventure that befell her in early 2023: after she gave birth to a baby girl in November 2022, the Francilienne was dropped by her main sponsor, who felt that her maternity would prevent her from taking part in enough races to ensure her qualification for the Vendée Globe 2024.

An episode that reveals the inequalities of treatment between men and women in the world of sport, particularly within sailing, where there is still a long way to go: only 6 women sailors took part in the Vendée Globe 2020.

Clarisse has named her new project with L'Occitane en Provence “Race for equity”. “My personal history makes me want to bring about a change in society, so that women no longer have to choose between a desire for motherhood and a sporting career”, she explains.

Offshore development of H2air

By teaming up with a nature-loving sportswoman, H2air strengthening its sea-legs: the group intends to respond to upcoming offshore wind energy tenders. “This partnership illustrates the new trajectory H2air wishes to take, namely to intensify its international development and diversify its portfolio of offers” explains Roy Mahfouz.

On the Road to the Vendée Globe 2024!

Over the past year, H2air's employees have transformed into Clarisse Crémer’s biggest fans during the races and events leading up to her official qualification for the Vendée Globe 2024.

September 2023: we become Clarisse Crémer's official partner in her Vendée Globe goal, alongside L'Occitane en Provence.

We take part in her first race: the Défi Azimut, where Clarisse finishes in the top 10! An impressive performance, and above all an opportunity to test the duo with Alan Roberts in preparation for...

... the Transat Jacques Vabre! Delayed by bad weather, Clarisse and Alan crossed the finish line in Martinique in 9th place! The duo had set themselves the goal of finishing the race, so “a top 10 finish is a real treat”, explains Clarisse.

December 2023: Back to base... Solo! Mission accomplished for our champion who, in 12th place, took another step towards qualifying for the Vendée Globe 2024! The skipper confides: “Overall, I've learned a lot! For me, the sequence between the Transat Jacques Vabre and Retour à La Base was the best possible: you do a double-handed race, you're tired but you stay in the thick of things for single-handed racing!

After 20 days of  eventful sailing - not without its twists and turns! - Clarisse crossed the finish line of the iconic CIC Transat in April 2024. It was a grueling race, but her perseverance and expertise paid off, marking a new milestone in her preparation for the Vendée Globe.

June 2024: gave way to another crucial step for qualification: the New-York - Vendée, where Clarisse completed the race with bravery and determination, despite significant challenges and difficult weather conditions.

And finally, the official announcement of Clarisse Crémer's qualification for the Vendée Globe 2024! After a series of impressive performances and rigorous preparation, Clarisse has secured her place among the skippers of this legendary race.

It's a huge relief and a great pride,” says Clarisse, ”every step of this project has been a move towards this qualification which means so much to me and my team.
