A financial analyst at H2air works primarily on modelling wind, solar and storage projects at various stages of development through to operation. We translate technical specifications into economic realities by building business plans and analysing various indicators to assess project feasibility and viability. We support the development teams in their decision-making processes and discussions with local stakeholders.
A significant part of the role involves the transactional phase: once projects have been approved and are ready to be built, the financial analyst coordinates the financing process. This involves liaising with banking partners, appointing auditors and insurers, and overseeing the project until the bank closes.
I spend a large part of my day on financial modelling, either for projects that have reached the financing stage or for optimisation scenarios. I collaborate closely with the pre-construction team to develop internal tools that enhance our processes. I also monitor regulatory developments to keep abreast of changes in the legal framework. Finally, I oversee funded projects during their construction phase, maintaining constant contact with financial partners to address any issues that arise.
I enjoy the diversity of topics the most. I don't just deal with financial matters. I also deal with technical aspects, which makes the projects particularly interesting. I have to keep myself constantly informed about economic news and regulatory developments. I work on a variety of technological projects today, so I never get bored! I also enjoy liaising with other departments, as this enables me to oversee all aspects of the projects we want to finance.
